Before contacting support

Please include:

• iPhone model;
• iOS version;
• app version and build;
• activity type;
• the step where the issue occurred;
• a screenshot or screen recording when possible.

Send only the information needed to investigate the issue. Beta builds can create a Redacted Summary from Tester Tools. It omits route coordinates but is not anonymous and may contain technical identifiers, timestamps, device and app details, permission states, and sample metrics. Full GPS Diagnostics contain exact route coordinates; share that file only when you are comfortable disclosing the route. Support messages and attachments are handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

Safety and accuracy

GPS speed, distance, route, and map information is provided for informational purposes. Speed Overlay Camera is not a certified measuring instrument, navigation system, or emergency service.

Do not interact with the app while driving, riding, skiing, or otherwise moving. Set up and secure the iPhone before starting, keep your attention on your surroundings, follow applicable laws, and do not use the app in a way that encourages excessive speed or unsafe behavior.

Common questions

Why is speed unavailable?

Speed Overlay Camera hides speed when GPS information is missing, stale, or too inaccurate. Move outdoors with a clear view of the sky and allow Precise Location for the best result. GPS accuracy depends on the device, surroundings, weather, signal conditions, and other factors outside the app's control.

Why does the route contain a gap?

The app keeps GPS gaps visible instead of joining unreliable points with a false straight line.

Why is the map unavailable or incomplete?

Live map imagery and initial map preparation use Apple MapKit and may require an internet connection. Recording and local telemetry can continue when map imagery is unavailable. An already prepared map may remain available from local app storage.

Where are recordings stored?

Recordings, telemetry, maps, diagnostics, overlays, and Route Posters remain in the app's local storage. Finished videos and Route Posters are added to Photos only after you explicitly save them.

What happens when I choose a photo for an overlay?

The app uses Apple's system Photos picker and receives only the image you explicitly select. It stores a local copy for use in the overlay and does not upload the image to a developer-operated server.

How do I restore Pro Forever?

Open Settings in Speed Overlay Camera and select Restore Purchases while signed in with the Apple Account that purchased Pro Forever. Pro Forever is a one-time, non-consumable In-App Purchase and is not a subscription.

How do I request a refund for an In-App Purchase?

Apple processes App Store purchases and refund requests. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and follow Apple's instructions.

How do I delete local information?

• Delete Video, Keep Activity removes the original and exported videos but keeps the route, telemetry, diagnostics, overlay information, and Route Posters.
• Delete Activity removes that activity's local project folder.
• Imported overlay images may remain in shared local app storage until the app is deleted.
• Items already saved to Photos or shared elsewhere must be deleted separately.
• Deleting the app removes its remaining local app data, subject to backups controlled by you and Apple.

The developer cannot remotely view or delete information stored only on your device.

How do I change permissions?

Open iOS Settings and select Speed Overlay Camera to review Camera, Microphone, Location, and Photos permissions. Revoking a permission disables the corresponding feature but does not delete information already stored locally.
